2022 is an exciting year for Sue Bryce Education and the Sue Bryce community!

We have so many wonderful new features to announce, but we also want you to know that even with all the new changes, so many things will stay the same. We will always be true to our mission to provide you with the most comprehensive online and in-person portrait photography education you can get, offering everything from camera basics to lighting to styling, and crucially, how to succeed in the business of portrait photography.

We are also a worldwide community of portrait photographers, mentors and members — passionate, likeminded professionals who offer each other support, shared knowledge, and camaraderie. We are so honored to serve this important role in the photography industry and are pleased to share with you all the great new changes that we’ve launched so we can provide you with even more resources to achieve your photography business dreams.

New Name

Our mission has always been to be the most comprehensive and cohesive portrait education system in the world, helping photographers build a portfolio they love and the business they’ve always dreamed of. In order to express more clarity toward achieving our mission, our new name, The Portrait System by Sue Bryce, mirrors the title of The Portrait System Podcast and shows new and potential members right off the bat all that we have to offer as a complete and comprehensive system.

We are still a Sue Bryce platform, and you will continue to be served up loads of amazing, inspiring Sue Bryce content, so there is no change there! The change is more to refocus on the purpose and mission of this brand Sue has created for you – to help you master all aspects of photography and business so that you can achieve your personal, financial, and creative dreams by becoming a successful photography business owner.

New and Expanded Membership Features

In 2022, we are pleased to announce that we have expanded on your options of membership plans to choose from based on your level of expertise and your business goals. The same $399 membership you know and love will remain the same, but we’re adding more options, new levels, and exciting offerings!

  • Our Professional Membership is just like the membership you already know, and it comes with some awesome, new features.
  • Our lower cost, entry-level Beginner Membership will focus on a smaller portion of offerings for photographers just getting started who are looking to learn the ropes.
  • Our highest-value Premium Membership is for those who are ready to go above and beyond where they are today, or are looking for additional features.

Photographers with Professional or Premium-level memberships have access to Gold & Platinum Rewards and also will receive a complimentary pass to this year’s Wedding and Portrait Photographer’s International (WPPI) Conference scheduled for February 27-March 3 in Las Vegas (a $249 value). All attending members will also be invited to a special members-only happy hour networking event with Sue Bryce and others in the community during the conference.

We’re also dishing up some new weekly content and have added several new and extremely useful tools to help photographers build their business, calculate their pricing structures, and more! Access varies by membership level.

  • Products and Services Discounts — We’ve partnered with incredible vendors to provide our members with exclusive discounts on relevant products and services for your business.

New Courses

The Portrait Masters Conference — Live and In Person!

For the first time since 2019, The Portrait Masters Conference will be live and in person during the second half of 2022!

“We’re back, we’re new, and we’re excited for 2022!” exclaimed Sue Bryce. “This year’s conference will be an in-person learning experience and a celebration of friendships and community. The Portrait System is a great example of how streaming technology has advanced online learning, but in-person gatherings, especially after a two-year hiatus, remains the most effective form of communication and sharing.”

To continue our tradition of hosting an intimate learning environment, we will offer a limited number of tickets, ensuring everyone present receives the most intense professional training and education available outside of a traditional classroom.

The cornerstone of the conference is interactive learning, so everyone in attendance will have access to photo bays, open shoots, and guided photo walks. As always, we’ll have an awesome demo stage and showroom floor with special deals on the latest photo gear from trusted industry experts.

The Portrait Masters Awards — Open to the Public

For the first time, we’ve opened our Portrait Masters Awards (PMAs) submissions to the public, giving non-members access to our acclaimed panel of judges, including Richard Wood, Susan Stripling, Tony Carter, Kevin Jairaaj, and Nikki Closser, among others.

Our judges award Merit points to your photographs that add up toward your accreditation. Accreditation not only provides you with validation from world-class photographers that you have attained a high standard in your craft, it also can be used to market your brands and level of expertise to potential clients.

We have so many great categories you can enter, including Children, Boudoir, Pets, Maternity, and this year, Weddings and Cultures of the World. There is a $1,000 top prize in each category and a Grand Champion prize (best-in-show) of an additional $1,500.

This year we are also offering Folio Review Sessions. This is your chance to  be one of ten lucky photographers to receive live feedback from our expert masters. Award-winning photographers say that listening to critiques of their own and other’s images is the greatest education they have received for improving their craft. Don’t miss this chance to gain valuable feedback on your portraits, hear critiques of other photographer’s work, and learn from top mentors in the field. New session times will be announced soon.
