Vanessa Fennel is a portrait photographer and visual author born in Guadeloupe and now based in Nice, after nearly twenty years spent between France and Brazil. She completed six months of photography training at the New York Film Academy in 2012 and achieved Associate level with The Portrait Masters, now The Portrait System, in 2022. Her first exhibition in Cabo Frio, Brazil, Les femmes, les visages cachés, focused on women who had experienced violence. In 2016, she created Futur Président Béninois, a photographic project encouraging children to remain in school, later presented through ten exhibitions across Benin. Her work now unfolds through two connected practices: Atelier Zéphyr, devoted to guided portrait experiences, and Nomadic Light, an archive of faces, gestures and places transformed by time.
