How Do We Move Forward Right Now?

We are slowly learning which “stay home” restrictions are being relaxed, and which restrictions are still in place. It’s time to prepare to get back to “normal” work with these limitations.

We have to pivot and we don’t have long to prepare. I know this time has been frightening and for lots of people, it has been paralyzing. But, we have a path forward and, although it is not clear and it feels very uncertain, we can still work with restrictions.

It’s time to research and prepare any outdoor or open shooting locations. Mark the time, watch the light, and watch the weather. Double check if you need permits with your local council. It’s time to come back and start creating a plan to reopen.

For many photographers that predominantly shoot weddings, events, sports and schools, it’s time to shift to portrait genres. Explore what genres are accessible to you for this period of time and focus on creating pricing, packages, and marketing for these genres.
